Getting To Know You

Before I start the questions...I just have to say that I just got home from my niece's birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese's. Let's just say lesson learned...hell to the naw way will I ever hold my kids parties there. What's better than a b-day party with a bunch of kids running around?....why, that would be a bunch of kids multiplied by about 7 birthday parties all in one place....in a not so big building. Ahh, so happy I'm home!

So Keely at MannLand5 has posted some Getting To Know You Questions...

1. Do you iron your sheets?
Absofreakinlutely not. Not gonna happen, wouldn't be prudent.

2. Your dream car is....?
A Dodge Viper.

3. Do you have an innie or an outie belly button?
An innie.

4. What meal do you look forward to the most..breakfast, lunch, or dinner?
I can't say that I look forward to any of them the most.

5. Favorite mascara?
I don't wear mascara...so no fave for mwah.

6. What would you say your decorating style is..traditional, modern, eclectic, country, french country, shabby chic, etc..?
Umm, guess it would be a little contemporary.

7. Have you ever been skinny dipping?
Been there, dipped that.

8. I hate the smell of...?
Hmmm...guess that would be citrus trees. And it's not so much that they smell bad, but I know as soon as I get a whiff of them that my allergies are gonna go psycho on me.

Friday Follow

Friday Follow

Back for another round of Friday Follow. If you are interested in gaining more followers and would like to find some other blogs to follow...then link up at One 2 Try and follow the directions. There are 3 bloggers hosting Friday Follow...but it will all be explained to you.

And just a quick note for those who have been following and know about my career change and back to college...and my fear of math...I passed my first math test...got 14 out of 15 questions! Yay! Ok, so really, the test was just addition, subtraction, multiplication and division...I already knew while testing that I was going to miss a division one. Guess it's not bad for having a fear of math and not having done any math in 13+ years.

And speaking of grades...yesterday was parent/teacher conferences and my kids all did really well. Alyssa got High Honors for her very first time, Taylor is one C shy of Honor Roll, and Jayce got all Excellent's and Satisfactory's (kindergarten grading system). I'm proud of 'em.

Dear Someone

Dear Classmate,

Umm, I'm thinking it might be kinda easy and better lookin' if you either bought some pants that weren't so long or have them altered instead of cutting out an upside down U shape in the back and letting the front flap over your feet completely covering them. I give you and A+ for individuality though!

Woman who was distracted by your, umm, invention

Dear A Certain Someone,

Listen, I don't really care if you have a different opinion than me, that's just how the world works. But....what is really worse here...a tattoo (in which I have three and am not ashamed) OR a prejudiced religious person being prejudiced against people with tattoo's? Can't you just be religious without the prejudice, or is that asking too much of you? I suggest you get off your high horse and not insinuate that people with tat's are evil...cause believe me, it's the prejudice that's gonna bring that on.

Woman you've pissed the eff off

Dear Next Month,

Please hurry! I'm soooooooo ESSSITED for the surprise that we're giving Alyssa for her *gasp* 13th birthday. I can't believe that my 1st born is going to be a teenager soon! 'Scuse me..I may need some Tylenol and to lie down now....

Random Tuesday Thoughts

For those of you who have stumbled upon me, it's time for some random tidbits. If you would like to participate in Random Tuesday Thoughts, then link up with The Un Mom.

~ I received my new swim suit that I ordered online. I buy mine just about every year from newportnews.com. I bought the scuba style belted swim dress. I got junk to cover after having kids, you know, the oh boy, it doesn't look so good anymore kinda junk. So anystretch, I think it's really cute and doesn't look like a granny suit at least even though it is a cover up suit. But it has one flaw...the shape control really does work...I feel like I'm wearing a girdle and it's awful dang hard to breathe!

~ So the temporary plate isn't even off the new vehicle that we got, and we've already got to get the front windshield replaced from a little rock hitting it on the freeway. Boy you shoulda heard my mouth when it happened.

~ This new Coconut Creme coffee creamer that I'm trying right now is yummy. I'm usually a French Vanilla girl who sporadically tries other flavors, with not much luck on finding the yummy stuff.

~ Is there a normal way that you're supposed to respond when you get injured? I normally get pissed off. Like if I stub my toe or something, it usually goes along the lines of "owww damn, stoooopid piece of s#!t. It cracks my husband up to no end...that's just cause he's the same way.

All About MEme Mondays: Deal Breakers

Today I am participating in my first All About MEme Mondays, and today's theme is Deal Breakers. This is hosted by Supahmommy and Mommybrain, so if you are interesting in this MEme, then link up with them.

A. List of your top 5 relationship dealbreakers. ( friend, family, in laws, etc)

or

B. Tell us about a time you experienced a DealBreaker.

I think I'll go with "A" and list my top 5 relationship deal breakers, well, maybe not my top 5, but 5 deal breakers:

1. Dating someone who pretends to be one way and then after a couple months you realize they are someone else entirely...and then you have to end up putting a harassment report on them because they won't.quit.stalking.you. Yep, c-ya buhbye now, dealbreaker.

2. Family favoritism with my kids due to whatever reason..I don't believe that just because you have bonded more with one of my kids means that you should favor them over the others with buying them more things, and praising them more and just always doting on them. All my kids should be loved the same by all family members even if you do think you are closer with one than the others. This is a peaceful family deal breaker...families should always be there for each person (unless your just a complete nutcase and your family can't stand you!). This is something that has happened in the past in our family..but is thankfully over and we can be at peace now.

3. When I start letting my kid wear light makeup and they sneak wearing eyeliner and mascara while at school and try wiping it off before they get home...yup, that's a makeup deal breaker..kiss.it.goodbye!

4. We can be frenz...but if you a fake friend, then you a definite deal breaker. Don't be fake!

5. You go to the doctor to get "fixed" and then you end up with a tubal pregnancy cause it didn't quite work...that's a deal breaker...I was s'posed to be fixed with no possibility of the troops marching right through the battlefield! That is an un-fixed deal breaker!

Friday Follow

Friday Follow

Last week I participated in Friday Follow, which is hosted by 3 wonderful bloggers, and the results were fantastic. So if you are ready to find some new blogs to follow and in turn get new followers, then link up here and find out how to participate!

Now, on to a few different topics for the day...

I live in Arizona, and right now there's something funky crazy going on. You see, here in AZ we're used to the sun shining and good temperatures...unless you're here in say July and August, then you might think you've landed in hell. But these past few days we have experienced about 3 rounds of rainfall, or snow if you're in Northern AZ. It rained here all.day.long yesterday. The news reported that the area just a few mines north of us got 6.75" of rainfall yesterday. That's unheard of around here! Here are some pics that I took of our normally bone dry river..and I do mean it is normally dry, no watta whatsoevah. I think that it's safe to say that our normally parched state is no longer dying for a drink...

These first two pics were taken 1/21/10

And these two were taken 1/22/10

Ready for the rain to stop now mmmkay? But..it's still supposed to continue to rain through today.

And one last topic for the day....yesterday I posted how I was gonna kick Jillian Michael's butt during a workout....that didn't include the other girl that is in the fitness video..cause umm, hell naw I can't do what she's doing! She crazy...but I think it's a challenge!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Dear Someone

Welcome back to Dear Someone letters..if you would like to participate then link up with my friend Shortmama.

Dear Jason,

My fingernail still hurts after it was bent back this morning while we were fighting over the blankets. And it wasn't really that funny while I was hopping all over the place because it hurt...even though you say I looked like a spring and was getting some good air.

Your injured wifey

Dear Rain,

I really do enjoy you, even the grey skies since we don't get it often. But let's not overdo it mmkay? After dropping the kids off at school this morning I took a drive around town to see what has developed. Our normally dry riverbed is running pretty good and in one area you can see where the water is coming out of the river and onto some people's property that live in close proximity to the river. Now I don't even know those people, but I sure don't want to see their houses and property destroyed.

Concerned neighbor

Dear Dog,

Just because it is raining outside doesn't mean that when I open the door to let you out in the morning to go to the bathroom that you should turn around and look at me like I'm crazy and then try to scamper back instead of heading out the door to do your business. Suck it up and get it out.

Mean Momma

Dear Jillian,

After I'm done with this post, I'm gonna get up and kick your ass. I'm determined to get results, but I wanna smack your happy ass in the process. And for future reference, you should make your dvd's without any talking or sound whatsoevah..I don't want to hear you.

Fiesty Rose

Dear Electricity,

Puhhlease do not go out during this rainy whether. I know sometimes all it takes around here is for someone to blink and bam, you're gone. You are doing a good job sticking around so far, please don't leave, I need you.

Woman who enjoys all your benefits

Damn Migraines and College Crazies

I have survived the night to see another day..and my son Jayce has too. We were up off and on all.night.long....up about every 2 hours. Jayce had another migraine attack. He hasn't had a bad one for many months now..so I was relieved in thinking that he had outgrown them. They had become way less severe and more or so just a bother to him. But last nights was a doozy. The terrible headache (my eye hurts) was back along with the vomiting. I'm not one to get anxiety easily, but when that boy gets a headache I'm feeling the anxiety. I.hate.him.having.to.go.through.that. Hate it. This morning he woke up feeling better, but we still chose to keep him out of school today to let him rest and recover.

So this also left me wondering what in the heck I was gonna do since today was my first day of class. Luckily my hubby was able to stay home with him until I was done. Whew! So anyways, class went well today, I survived my first day in math class. I don't think there was any reason not too since 1 it was beginning math and 2 it was only about whole numbers and placement. Now I have some homework..and I'm actually excited about it. I like to learn though, even if it is a subject that terrifies the living crap outta me.

The classroom wasn't overcrowded, so that was good. And there was a good mix of people closer to my age (31) along with H.S. graduates. You have to watch it when entering and leaving the parking lot I have learned...those little fekkers zip in/out/around like it's nobody's business. Now I'm no slow poke by any means, but they're zipping around in there like it's the Indy 500. You start to back out when it's clear and these are the things you are thinking as you have to keep stopping cause someone is zipping by...oh nope, not yet; oh shit, crazy ass; holy fek, they're trying to kill me, get me outta here now!

Oh ya, and there was this girl in the classroom when I first arrived, she was sharpening her pencil. You know those old fashioned looking metal ones where you insert pencil and turn the knob. So she gets done sharpening her pencil, goes back to her desk and sits down, immediately gets back up with the same pencil and sharpens it some more, goes back to her desk and sits, and then gets up AGAIN to go sharpen the SAME DAMN PENCIL. WTF?

Random Tuesday Thoughts

Welcome back to random Tuesday...where you're welcome to spout what's on your mind and link up with The Un Mom.

~ It is finally raining here in AZ..and the weather has left the 70 degree weather behind. I shall miss it..but I'll take the rain. Although, it is forecasted that we are supposed to get a lot of rain, enough to flood over a bridge that had previously experienced water all the way to the top many years ago. I'm all for a lots of rain, just not the flooding.

~ So excited for tomorrow...first day back to college, though it is a math class, and I'm not much of a math fan..but I'ma gonna tackle it anyways. Next month I start Psychology 101. And then after class tomorrow I'm heading to my friends house that lives just down the street from the college, and we're gonna work out together to Jillian's 30 day shred. This ought to be interesting...we're either gonna kick butt or die trying..or die laughing..one of those!

~ Back to the rain...I'm wishing it was really rainy, yet warm at the same time...I'd love to take the Polaris Ranger out and play in the mud.

~ Today is one of those days when it's hard to think on what to post..I'm too busy singing along to the songs on the XM.

~ Even the man in the moon disappears, somewhere in the stratosphere...oh, sorry, I was still singing.

~ I must be crazy to still be thinking about getting a second dog. But I really would like an American Bulldog. I think our Roxy needs a friend. But Roxy is the perfect pup and I don't know about changing the atmosphere around here. Well, she's perfect in the fact that she likes to nap alot, we get along good in that aspect. She's weird though really. When my husband gets home from work, she gets all excited, but that excitement is aimed at me, like I'm the one that just got home. Maybe she's all excited telling me that he's home..I really don't know. She's kinda clingy too. And whiny. Ok, this isn't lookin' good for her...but I loves her none the less..she's my cuddle bug.

I think she needs a friend like this...

Friend Makin' Monday

Just another manic Monday, wish it was Tuesday, cause that's when the kids are back in school day...

Welcome back to Friend Makin' Mondays, hosted by Amber @ aefilkins. Today's topic...

With the new year here, and resolutions & organizational goals in full force, what are some of the projects on your list? Are you working on any specific projects around the house, such as purging, organizing, craft projects, home improvement projects? Share with us! {And hopefully you'll be sharing the before & afters on your blogs, so we know what we can tune in for!!}

~ The first project that already got started was planting some shrubs and such in our front yard. We needed to do this for two reasons. First of all, our yard is still a dirt/rock lot..no landscaping = not very enticing at all. The second reason is to try to block our neighbors cactus that ends up in our yard, and in us, and on our outdoor swing, so every time we sit on it we end up getting poked. So over the weekend, this is what we did...

See the neighbors cactus...tons of tiny little red suckers on there just waiting to invade the skin...

~ Another project is to replace some of the blinds in our house. Now that the kids and the dog are done destroying the ones we did have. This is coming a little at a time though...already ordered one for the living room that will come in in about a week..$138..*cough cough*, sorry couldn't breath there for a second for some reason. The ones in the kids rooms aren't going to be this same kind though..we'll stick with the regular plastic blinds for their rooms. It will be particularly nice to replace the ones in my sons room. Seriously, he has a ton of bite marks all over them from when he was younger. BITE MARKS! It's like he was trying to bust out or something, or looking for protein..I don't really know.

~ We also have on order some ledgestones to go on the bottom of our house on the new addition. The stem wall is just the painted bricks right now..and it needs some covering. That is due to come in in a week also.

~ The kids rooms are already re-painted, but still need to fill up their wall space. You can see their new rooms here. Be prepared for the bright, colorful walls! We also need to fill up the walls in almost every room of the house. So that's a project to tackle also.

~ And a very important project is to get to know my camera instead of just snapping pics and hoping for a good outcome. I love pictures, and still have to figure out how to operate our new Nikon Coolpix L100.

Well, I was really done with this post, had just got done taking a picture of Jayce's bite mark ridden blinds..when Taylor came in the room to show me a project she had just got done making. She had been trying to make a piece of cake with a candle on top of it. I have to say she did a pretty good job...but when I saw the candle, my mind immediately went into the gutter..I'm sure you'll understand..take a look...

Five Question Friday

Ok, so I was reading Beth's post from Laugh Until You Cry, and she had joined in on Five Question Friday, which is hosted by Mama M. @ My Little Life. So I decided to join in on it.

1. Worst trouble you ever got into as a teenager?
Well, let's see here. I wasn't too terribly bad growing up. Seriously, I grew up with my grandparents due to my parents messed up lives...so I guess you could say I saw enough trouble through them. I think I can safely say that the worst trouble that I ever got into was that I ended up pregnant at the tender age of 17. Yep, that wasn't too good a choice! Love my daughter to pieces and wouldn't change a thing..but really, that's something that should've waited! So..I was pregnant and then married at 17.

2.
Are you a morning person or a night person?
I have NEVER been a morning person..never evah. I'll take a little bit of sleeping in and mix it with a little bit of slow to rise please. Guess I don't stay up too late either..we go to bed anywhere between 8-10 p.m., and then read for a while before calling it a night.

3.
Are you a one-handed or a two-handed Texter?
Ok, are you ready for this??? Are you seated??? Maybe you should lie down for this one. I.Have.Never.Texted. Not once. I know, I know..I'm a rare species. But I'm a SAHM, and really don't have a need to text. I have this here computer, and my home phone and cell phone, and have never needed to text. And..I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything.

4.
Democrat, Republican, or Independent..or maybe even Green Party (whatever that is).
Ok, well here's the thing with me and politics. I don't like politics. But...I am a registered voter..it's a requirement that comes with being a board member for a fire board. So...when I registered, I registered as an independent because, well, I hate politics, and I don't feel like arguing for one side or the other. That and I kinda like the sound of independent..sounds more in control to me!

5.
Are you a pet person?

Well, I never really used to be a pet person. But..I now have a dog, Roxy, that I just absolutely love. I don't know what it is with this dog..maybe it's the fact that she loves to nap just as much as I do. I'm just sayin'.

I luvs this dog!

Now..sometimes she can be a pain in the bootay though. Like the time she chewed my favorite strapless bra. I say this kind of lightly though...I hate bra's, so uncomfortable. But anywho..and then there are the times that she maybe isn't acting quite right, or her eye is swollen or what have you...and then I worry just like she's one of my kids. And then of course I have to get upset at her since she's makin' me worry.

Well that is my rendition of Five Question Friday..so long until next time!

Random TT / 100th Post!! / First Giveaway

Not only is today the day to spill the random beans, but it's also my 100th post!! Woot woot. And also a thanks to you guys, my first giveaway! There's lots of shiznit happenin' today. So let's get started with the random stuff first.

~ Yesterday I went out shopping at a mall in the Phoenix area. It is the mall that I grew up going to. It was cool when I was a kid, but now I think it's just plain ghetto. It was really ghetto back in the day, but now that I'm all growed up..I really think it's ghetto. It is after all known to have the most car thefts at that mall. Let me tell ya what I got to experience there yesterday. I was out looking for the second item that I could possibly give away today, so I ended up in Spencers. I find an item I wanted...and a Tapout shirt for me...and I get to the register to pay. As I am paying I hear some guy behind me say Woooooowwwwwww. Ok, let's just picture how this sounded for a moment. It was a long drawn out wow, real low key..ya know, kinda like a stoner. Well, it sounded really close, like someone was in mah space. But I just ignored it and continued to pay. That is until I heard this same person say, mmhmm, those lights are really doing things to your shirt and hair. Now I knew it was close, and my first thought was this better be someone I know because they are literally RIGHT AT MY BACK TALKING INTO MY NECK. So I slowly turn around and give THE LOOK and was not too excited to see it definitely was not someone that I knew..it was some furrreeak. Dude was trippin' on the colorful small spinning strobe lights that were reflecting off of me. I do a slow neck turn to the cashier who is frantically trying to ring me out and is giving the guy THE LOOK also and looking at me like sorry, and I'm looking at her like holy hell glad I don't have to stay in here with this nutcase. So I pretty much just finished the transaction and got the hell outta there while he was still bantering on. I always want to go off on those kind of people...but I don't know how they are going to respond..after all, they aren't all there obviously.

~ I have not one, but two sick kids at home today. Seriously they just.got.over.colds from Christmas time. And tomorrow is class picture day at school, which I really don't want them to miss out on..especially since it's Jayce's first year for class pics..can't miss out on the kindergarten one!

~ Well we traded off our 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Sport Quad Cab for a 2010 Chevy Equinox...good bye gas guzzler. I will really miss that truck, it was suhweet...minus needing to own an oil company to keep it going and the suspension was pretty stiff too. I love the smoothness of the new vehicle. Now we barely feel the bumps in the road instead of feeling like you've been picked up and moved over a couple of inches every time you go over rough patches in the road.

~ I have finally enrolled in college courses. I haven't been to college in many years. This semester I'm taking math and psychology 101. It's beginner math people..I fear/loathe/despise/am sickened by math. I am now on the road to a degree in nursing. It's gonna be a looooooong and most likely stressful road..but I'm on it. I don't want to take a full load, I want to extend it out so I am still able to stay at home with the kids until they are older.

Ok, now for the giveaway. I have learned that a lot of you out there really enjoy cooking. I on the other hand..don't! I.don't.like.to.cook. Yes, I said it. So I am giving away two items today. The first up on the list is this...

The back of this cookbook states "The Silver Spoon is the bible of authentic Italian cooking. Italy's best-selling cookbook for the last fifty years, it features traditional dishes alongside specially written menus by celebrated chefs. Now translated for the first time into English, The Silver Spoon's 2,000 recipes make it an essential classic for everyone who loves good food.

The second part of the giveaway is for those of you that like to sip on a little sumpin' while you're tearin' it up in the kitchen...

This is a stainless steel ladies flask. Get wasted in style! The back of this packaging reads "The flask has been a favorite of bad girls since the prohibition days when naughty ladies would smuggle gin hidden inside their petticoats. Now, it's your turn to look fierce while you get f*cked up! Made of sturdy stainless steel, this stylish 6 oz. flask makes the perfect gift for you or your favorite hip chick."

So here are the rules if you would like to win these two items.

1. For an entry you have to be a follower AND leave a comment stating you would like to be entered to win.
2. For an extra entry, post on your blog about the giveaway and rule #1, and then leave a 2nd comment letting me know that you have posted.

The giveaway will be open for entries until the end of the day tomorrow, January 13, 2010. Good luck to everyone! My goal is to post the winner by Thursday.
