My Husband Drives Me Batty Repost

I've got some things to do today, so I figured I would repost this story that some of you may have missed. Enjoy!

I think my husband may have his priorities bass ackwards. This past Sunday morning it was just myself and the kids home, my husband left out early in the morning to go out quad riding with my great friend shortmama's husband.

So I get up in the morning and everything is just fine and normal. I'm up and dressed, the kids are up and dressed, breakfast is done and the kids are outside playing. So I start to clean up the kitchen. One of my husbands cowboy hats is sitting on the counter so I go to take it into my room. And what do I come upon when I get into my room? There's a freakin' bat flying around all over the place in there.

So I calmly, yet quickly, shut my bedroom door. I head out the front door and around to the back door, which leads into my bedroom. I open the back door and see the bat still flying around like crazy. So I close the door again and get into a better position instead of standing right in front of the door and right in the path of its exit. I open the door again and see the bat hanging on the recessed lighting in the hallway. It sees its exit and goes about its business.

So of course I have to call shortmama and tell her what happened.

My husband got home around noon and I met him out back to tell him about our visitor. My first words to him were "Guess what I had to chase out of the house this morning?". He said "a bat". I said "Yep, you must've talked with shortmama already". And he said yes. But then it took him a few more minutes to tell me that the bat was actually in the house this morning before he left. He said that he didn't know how I didn't wake up because he had all the lights on in the room and was trying to catch the dang thing...with two of his cowboy hats. Oh, to only have seen what he looked like while doing this.

But...he couldn't catch it...and he didn't want to be late meeting up with shormama's husband...in which shortmama's husband was still in deep slumber anyways at home and was late for their meeting by 1/2 hour...so he left the rabid bat in the bedroom with his wife whom he loves so dearly...and that's when the fight started...

Oh Deer!

Whew..what a long week it has been! I feel like I've been running 'round for days! Hmm, maybe because I have been!

It is hunting season round these parts. My husband Jason and his PAL (hehe) only spent two days hunting though. Levi got his deer on opening day, practically first thing in the morning, just before 9 a.m. They didn't get the deer back to our friend Shortmama and Levi's house until around 1 p.m., and we didn't get out of their place from getting everything bagged up until 9 p.m. So that made for a long day.

The very next day, Saturday, they were off again to try and get Jason's deer. When he left in the morning I told him "have a great day sitting on your ass doing nothing, please don't shoot anything today so we can rest". He.Didn't.Listen. Not only did he Not listen, he didn't shoot the deer until almost sundown, somewhere in the 5 p.m. hour. Sooooo...we had to wait for Grumpy Old Men to get home (that's how I think of these two, they are comical like that).

So they had to drag the deer over all of creation again to get it back to the Ranger. They got back to shortmama's place at 9 p.m. where we were happily waiting, cause ya know we like to spend two days back to back doing the same thing! Amanda and I were going to have ourselves some drinks to help get us through the night, but..we were too tired for that. After all was said and done...we were home and in bed just after 1 a.m.

Here are some pics that show our night on the 2nd night:

Jason tired..and tired of me taking pics!! He's tellin' me I'm #1!

Levi was dead tired!

Life update

So yesterday I reported that I bought a desk that my husband was going to have to put together ...and that he was going to love me for it (hehe, that's funny!). A few curses and some re-doing, the desk was finally complete.

This how the desk was turning out to look like.
Me: Um, I think there is something wrong here.
Jason: No, that's what the instructions show.
Me: Um, no, that can't be right. The top of the desk is laying on the ground, and the rest doesn't look very functional.
Jason: Hmm, maybe you're right.

After re-arranging some pieces, he got it almost right. He'll fix the rest this weekend. You see, the board in the back where your knees almost touch, it's turned around the wrong direction, and so is the little bottom board on the right side.
Me: Can you fix it.
Jason: Do you know what I have to take apart just to fix those two pieces?
Me: Please.
Jason: Would you like to do it yourself?
Me: Um, no, just for you to fix it thank you!

So I followed through with going and taking my english and reading placement tests. Dang I hate it when I stress over stuff and then come to find out I didn't need to after all. They request you to take a math placement test also, but let's just face it, I suck at math and I'm just gonna start from the easiest course and make my way up. Let's not embarass myself with that placement test.

But as for the english and reading...how did that turn out you say? Wonderfully! I am exempt from reading...woohoo, no reading classes for me! And for english, I don't have to take any of the starter classes. I am starting where they make everyone start, unless they have to take the english classes that lead up to it, not only am I able to start higher up, but I can choose either English 101 or English 101 Honors. Really now..I'm not too excited over this!

So now I need to see about taking an english and math class online, and then start at one of the community colleges in Spring of 2010. Exciting and nerve wracking all at once...
