Whew...I Think I Need A Nap

I've been gone recently. Not the I've left the house kind of gone. The "my head has done a face plant into my books" kind of gone. This is the last week of class for this semester, and I've been studying away. Today was my last day of math class...I could dance a nekked jig, it makes me that happy. And tomorrow is my last day of psychology class. Looking forward to my break before the fall semester.

I had a fantabulous Mother's Day. Hoping all the rest of you Momma's did too. My kids all gave me cards. And we hung out. My hubby made a wonderful dinner. And then we went to home depot for my pick in a Mother's Day present....new house paint. Got a few things to fix some cracks in our stucco, and then chose a darker color for our house than what we currently have.

The night before Mother's Day, my husband and I got to go and hang out with Shortmama and her hubby for the night. Kid Free. Ya, that was fantabulous too. We first started out at a steakhouse for dinner. Mmm mmm good. Then we ended up at one bar. But that one was a little dead and noisy. Noisy since there was a band playing in a very small enclosed area. Decided it was worth screaming to hear each other talking. So off to another bar we went. We had so much fun, and took some great pictures that we'll remember forevah, and laugh at forevah!

My hubby and I...

I love this pic of my hubby, it's very clear. It's so clear you can completely see how two-toned he is!!!

Shorty and her hubby Levi...Looks like Levi is passed out, but upon closer inspection you will see that he is cracking up!

And this my friends is what happens when I start feeling a little tipsy...

And this my friends is my happy/embarrassed hubby!

We had a wonderful time that night...can't wait to do it again!!!

Summer's A'Comin'

I have to say that I am pretty excited that I only have 4 more days of math class and either 4 or 5 days of psychology class left. Then out for the summer. I have been enjoying attending classes again, even if it's only a little with the math class :) I'm taking the summer off so I can have a break and so I don't have to have others watch the kids for me. Fall semester I will be back at it taking another math class and an english class. I also have to say that I will miss my cussing classmate in math this semester. She kept things, um, lively to say the least!

I guess on Memorial Day weekend we as a family are going on a camping trip with some of our neighbors and a whole slew of other people. I don't know who all is going. So I'm partly excited and partly ancy. Maybe I can get Shortmama and her family conned in to going with us! Hint, hint shorty....cause I know you are reading this! So that's a good thing to do for the start of our summer events. My hubby's two older kids will be out here for a week during the summer, so we'll do lots of water stuff and possibly camping while they are out here. And then we also hope to take a week's vacation sometime while the kids are out of school also. The beach...ya, the beach sounds good! Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Oh ya...almost forgot...this past weekend we went to Shortmama's house for dinner. We kind of invited ourselves and then called them to "ask" if we could come over. Ya, that's how we do things around here. So anyways, we tried a new drink while we were there. And then we were playing cards and Amanda's allergies started bothering her. So she took 2 Benadryl. Mmm hmm. Give me two of those things and I'm knocked out....give Shorty two of those things and sit back for the show people! I wish I had the pics to show you, but unfortunately, they are all on her blackberry. Girl was laughing up a storm, making silly faces and cracking us the hell up!

Random Tuesday Thoughts

~I got a 91 on my last Psych test in class. I've been getting A's and B's in there. Wish I could say the same for my math class, been getting A's, B's and C's...and a whole lot of cursing...in math class. Cause damn it, it pisses me off when I can't figure something out!

~It was really funny in band camp math class the other day. The instructor was talking about graphs. She used her APS graph as an example. Then the subject went to a competition on her block to get the lowest APS bill. She said she keeps it about 83 degrees in her house. So one of the other students said "you guys must go through a lot of deodorant". We all busted up laughing, including the instructor.

~I hate laundry. I'm just sayin'.

~Look...I'm a mom. I know. News flash here. Buuuuuut....my son...oh, my son. I love him to pieces, but that boy sure can get on my last nerve. It takes him FOREVER to get what he's asked to do done. Pick up toys. Pick up toys...1/2 hour later he's finally done. Get pajamas on and go to the bathroom and brush teeth...another 1/2 hour. FOREVER. Frustratingly FOREVER. By now my nerves is bad. They are frazzled. They are short circuiting. Bzzzzzp.

For Realz

Ok, so today was my mid-term test for math. I got 85 points out of 100. While some would consider this good, I am not happy with it. So excuse me for a while, because I seemingly didn't put on my big girl panties today to help get over it.

Random Tuesday Thoughts

~ I've already shared some funny college experiences since I've started this semester. I've got another interesting moment to share. During class yesterday there was a new student, another youngish fella. He comes in and talks to the teacher for a minute to get updated on where we are in the class and then he takes a seat behind me. He starts talking to the girl sitting next to him about the class and expectations. Then.......he says that he hasn't taken classes "in like 3 or 4 years, the last time I took them was when I was in jail". Yup, that's what he said. So I spent the class period thinking some crazy fekker was sitting behind me. I thought about turning around the moment he said that and pointing two fingers towards my eyes and then at him to let him know "I'm watchin' you, keep ya distance".

~ I know some people have made new years resolutions (not me) and some have chosen a word for the year (again, not me). But there is one thing that I would like to do. I'd like to live like I'm dying. I want to do more things, experience things and places I've never been to or done. I want to go out and live it up and enjoy life and all it has to offer. I've always been more of a homebody....I'll always enjoy the comforts of home, but I wanna get out and make some memories. Of course...I'll have to document the memories cause I can't remember poo.

~ I.am.so.excited! I won a book giveaway from Mag at Sitting on the Mood Swing at the Playground! It's the second giveaway that I've ever won...and they both happen to be from her! She's awesome. And the book sounds awesome. Here is the book...

And it's not just a book...it signed by the author, Kristen Chase! This will be the first signed book I've ever had. Well...In a way anyways....my daughter Alyssa was put in a book by a teacher of hers. The teacher and her husband authored and illustrated a book, and used Alyssa for one of their characters! So cool. Anyawesome, they signed the book for her...but I'm claiming it until she's older...like when I'm almost dead and gone older. Anyoffsubject, I can't wait to get the book and see what it's all about. Thanks again for the giveaway Mag!

~ I was going to work out this morning...but a friend called and said that Denny's is having free breakfast until 2 p.m....gotta go get my free on.

You Didn't Just Say That

Ok, so I wasn't going to post today since I've been a little busy...math class, getting my (brand new) cracked windshield replaced and hanging out with my jackass..aka hubby.

But I really wanted to share a story about this stooopid kid in class today. Our class lasts for an hour and 15 minutes. An hour into class right in the middle of the instructor explaining a math process, this guy decides it's ok to say "isn't it time to go now". The instructor advised him that no it's not, there's still 15 minutes of class left. He then decides to take it a step further and say "well I want to go now". The instructor then says "then go". But like a dufus he just continues to sit there...and mope. I sat there floored...thinking to myself "are you freaking kidding me?!". What a spoiled, ignorant and disrespectful little prick. Just another reminder of certain families that raise their kids to think that they are owed everything and that the world revolves around them.

There are a few times where the instructor also mentioned how her college math students decide to just skip problems like fractions and word problems on tests because they don't do their homework and don't take time to understand what they are doing. I hope, no, I know that I am raising my kids to put effort into what they do. I'll be darned if I'll settle for my kids slacking off and being dipwads in college because they don't feel like putting the effort in. If that kids parents have to pay for his education, they ought to be highly disappointed in him....and if he's getting a free grant, he definitely doesn't deserve it with that kind of effort and behavior.

Damn Migraines and College Crazies

I have survived the night to see another day..and my son Jayce has too. We were up off and on all.night.long....up about every 2 hours. Jayce had another migraine attack. He hasn't had a bad one for many months now..so I was relieved in thinking that he had outgrown them. They had become way less severe and more or so just a bother to him. But last nights was a doozy. The terrible headache (my eye hurts) was back along with the vomiting. I'm not one to get anxiety easily, but when that boy gets a headache I'm feeling the anxiety. I.hate.him.having.to.go.through.that. Hate it. This morning he woke up feeling better, but we still chose to keep him out of school today to let him rest and recover.

So this also left me wondering what in the heck I was gonna do since today was my first day of class. Luckily my hubby was able to stay home with him until I was done. Whew! So anyways, class went well today, I survived my first day in math class. I don't think there was any reason not too since 1 it was beginning math and 2 it was only about whole numbers and placement. Now I have some homework..and I'm actually excited about it. I like to learn though, even if it is a subject that terrifies the living crap outta me.

The classroom wasn't overcrowded, so that was good. And there was a good mix of people closer to my age (31) along with H.S. graduates. You have to watch it when entering and leaving the parking lot I have learned...those little fekkers zip in/out/around like it's nobody's business. Now I'm no slow poke by any means, but they're zipping around in there like it's the Indy 500. You start to back out when it's clear and these are the things you are thinking as you have to keep stopping cause someone is zipping by...oh nope, not yet; oh shit, crazy ass; holy fek, they're trying to kill me, get me outta here now!

Oh ya, and there was this girl in the classroom when I first arrived, she was sharpening her pencil. You know those old fashioned looking metal ones where you insert pencil and turn the knob. So she gets done sharpening her pencil, goes back to her desk and sits down, immediately gets back up with the same pencil and sharpens it some more, goes back to her desk and sits, and then gets up AGAIN to go sharpen the SAME DAMN PENCIL. WTF?
