I'd Like...

Since I don't ever make any new years resolutions..might as well call it "I hope, but I quit"....I instead have a few things that I would like to be able to do this year.

~ I would like to go hiking more
~ I would like to take a college course
~ I would like to finish decorating my house
~ I would like to get my gas guzzler Dodge Hemi traded in on a non-gas guzzler
~ I would like to get involved in something that is more social instead of being such a homebody
~ I would like to take the kids to visit somewhere they have never been
~ I would like a weekend away with just my hubby and me
~ I would like to finally put music onto my ipod that's been sitting in it's box for forevaaaah
~ I would like to finally make it out to Lake Powell this summer..never been, it's beautiful

There's lots more that could make it onto this list, but I won't go on forever with it.

* Reminder...I think I am just 3 posts away from my 100th post, which means I will be having my very first giveaway! And to be eligible for this giveaway..all you have to do is be a follower and leave a comment requesting to be entered into the giveaway, and if you would like an extra entry then post on your blog about the giveaway and the requirement to be a follower. That's it..done.

Random Tuesday Thoughts

randomtuesday

~ We FINALLY went to bed at a decent hour last night instead of staying up all night playing the Wii. And then...a knock at the bedroom door...our son with a stomach ache. Goodbye early night to bed.

~ A friend of mine is going to be moving to California...I don't like it much, she's my hiking buddy. And if I can't live by the beach and sip on some cocktails then.neither.can.she.

~ I bought another filing cabinet to get crap organized...it's still not done yet.

~ Either I'm too picky or there aren't any good options for kitchen curtains. I've been re-decorating for a while now...hence there are no wall decorations in my living room. My curtains that are in the kitchen were supposed to be temporary...temporary is turning out to be a really long time.

Interested in other peep's randomness?...visit the Un Mom.

Aaahhhhhhh....That Was Great

Well IT finally happened...I have finally gotten my very first massage. I have only been talking about getting one for a decade now, but just never took the time to do it. And now...I bought a yearly membership. I think I may have really enjoyed it!

After the massage lady got done, she told me that I wasn't kidding when I said my left side is kinda messed up by my neck and upper back...pinched nerve and pain. She said I had a pretty good size knot. I may have drooled during the session...ok, so not really..but I'm not so sure I would've cared if I did. I really could've fallen asleep, but I didn't do that either.

By the time she got done and told me it was time to dress again, I was really glad that my friend lives just down the street from there....my hair looked crazy...just picture Cameron Diaz in There's Something About Mary. Yep, massage oil (no not that other stuff!) was in my hair, and I was looking a little crazy like. So I had to go to my friends house to wash my hair so people wouldn't be giving me crazy looks...in which I would've had to reply to them "well at least it was good!".

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!!! I fell off the radar for a little while there, but now I'm back. I didn't even write a good bye note for when I was gone! Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed their new year celebration.

Here is a little of what we have been doing. We spent Christmas here at home first and then spent time at my grandparnet's house..they live just down the road from me. Let's see..we all got a cold here in the house. We spent New Year's Eve at Shortmama's house. We played the Wii all night. Well...we half way played anyways...we were too busy cracking up to really get anywhere..but we had great fun! I don't even know how we were cracking up so much since we weren't even tipsy.

I have to tell you..on Christmas day I learned a very important lesson. Do.Not.Wake.The.Kids.If.They.Aren't.Up.Before.Your.Excited.Booty.Is.Up. Seriously. I was the first person up and decided to get everyone up to enjoy the festivities of the day. I will not do this again. I have learned that the two youngest aren't made for getting up before they wake on their own. It was a cat fight with attitude(taylor)/whining(jayce) all.day.long with those two. They drove us crazy.

Here is a little glimpse of what our Christmas looked like...

Here's Miss Alyssa being woken up Christmas morning...

And here's Taylor startled awake...

And here's sleepy boy Jayce...

Me and my brother at granny's house...

And Jason playing our new Wii on our new TV in our bedroom...our pre-Merry Christmas to Us!

We also went to two Christmas parties during this time. One for the fire department since I am on the board...and the other for my husband's company. I have to say I was a little uncomfortable attending the one for my husband's company...I can be pretty shy when I don't know someone (even though I spit it all out here, go figure)...and I didn't know any of the people there, but they all knew at least someone there. I must have a double personality..I'll say anything and everything in front of people I know..but put me in a group full of strangers and you can just fuhgetaboutit. Not always..but most of the time.

Hmm..while posting up these pics I have noticed that my husband set the wrong date on the camera...geez!!! Anywho...that was a little glimpse of our holiday..hope everyone had nothing but good times.

It's Really Friday This Time...

Alright, it's really Friday today...so if I show up at the school today for the kids awards assembly..there will really be an assembly today! Well last night was the kids Christmas Play at school, and each classes performance went well. My son, who is in Kindergarten ACTUALLY did what he was supposed to! You see, last year for his pre-school graduation, they had songs to sing. Jayce.Did.Not.Do.Any.Of.It. Ok, so in all fairness, he was only there one day a week, and didn't have time to learn what they were doing. And when he would catch my eye and I would motion for him to sing along..he would just scowl at me and raise up his little fist and shake it at me. Hmm.

And now..I have to cut this broadcast short...cause I got places to be and things to do. Have a great weekend everyone!

Dear Someone

Are you ready for some letters that are addressed to people or things that will never read them? Ok good..here we go then!

Dear Kitchen Sink,

Why must you back up. I don't enjoy the water all over the kitchen floor that is coming out of my dishwasher, because now the water is backed up to the dishwasher that wasn't hooked up right by the construction crew. I didn't really want to call the plumber that grunts and groans and cusses and is a tad bit on the "oh hell he's here again" list.

Dear Me,

Today is Thursday, not Friday...so yes, it was pointless to show up at the school today for the awards assembly that is tomorrow.

Dear Dog at the Humane Society,

Why must I have seen your picture. Now I want you. And my husband is glad I want you..because when I first told him last night on the phone that "I fell in love today"...he was silent for a moment, he thought I meant with another man. So...he really likes you too.

Woman whose heart you've stolen..yes, the same woman who wasn't going to get another dog
Me

Dear Plumber,

Your fee should be 1/2 price today for making me listen to you. I'm thinking this might not be the job for you..you may be better suited to sit home and collect disability by the sounds of it.

I got the hook-up..holla if ya hear me! If you want to participate in Dear Someone letters..hook up with Shortmama.

Ramblings of a Woman without Coffee...

This morning I am out of coffee. I miss the warmth and smoothness and goodness filled with French Vanilla creamer. Good thing I'm going shopping today. This from me, who never used to drink coffee at all a few years back, and flat out refused to make coffee at the job I was working at. Ya, things change.

I'm waiting for this weekend to fly by. There are just way too many things going on. Thursday I have a board meeting to attend, and then later that evening in the Christmas play for my kids at their school. Friday is their awards ceremony, and then the kids are let out for a two week break. I think they should re-name that a two week torture session. Kids home..fighting..being bored, you get the idea. Saturday we have a birthday party to attend, and then a couple hours later we have the Christmas party to attend for the fire district. And then...Sunday we have the company Christmas party for my husband's new job.

Did I already tell you that I'm outta coffee and I want some?

So last night I finally made it through the rest of the story on Christian and Stephanie Nielson. Not familiar with who they are?..go here to Stephanie's blog. I have followed Stephanie since her story was published in the AZ Republic here in Arizona. Her and her husband used to live in Mesa, AZ, but they now live closer to her family in Provo, Utah. They were in a plane crash a year ago and they both survived, but the pilot of the small plane did not. They were the only 3 passengers on board. They have survived, but it has been a very devastating time for Stephanie and her family. You can find the published story here. This is such a heart breaking story. I have followed her from day one since I heard about her, and will continue to do so. The article talks about how Stephanie and Christian will have to have surgeries for the rest of their lives, so they have listed a couple of places that you could donate to help them with their medical expenses. The following are places to make a donation...Any Bank of America branch, account No. 457010326204, in the name of Christian & Stephanie Nielson, or sent to NieNie, 2250 N. University Parkway, No. 4876, Provo, UT 84604.
