Random TT / 100th Post!! / First Giveaway

Not only is today the day to spill the random beans, but it's also my 100th post!! Woot woot. And also a thanks to you guys, my first giveaway! There's lots of shiznit happenin' today. So let's get started with the random stuff first.

~ Yesterday I went out shopping at a mall in the Phoenix area. It is the mall that I grew up going to. It was cool when I was a kid, but now I think it's just plain ghetto. It was really ghetto back in the day, but now that I'm all growed up..I really think it's ghetto. It is after all known to have the most car thefts at that mall. Let me tell ya what I got to experience there yesterday. I was out looking for the second item that I could possibly give away today, so I ended up in Spencers. I find an item I wanted...and a Tapout shirt for me...and I get to the register to pay. As I am paying I hear some guy behind me say Woooooowwwwwww. Ok, let's just picture how this sounded for a moment. It was a long drawn out wow, real low key..ya know, kinda like a stoner. Well, it sounded really close, like someone was in mah space. But I just ignored it and continued to pay. That is until I heard this same person say, mmhmm, those lights are really doing things to your shirt and hair. Now I knew it was close, and my first thought was this better be someone I know because they are literally RIGHT AT MY BACK TALKING INTO MY NECK. So I slowly turn around and give THE LOOK and was not too excited to see it definitely was not someone that I knew..it was some furrreeak. Dude was trippin' on the colorful small spinning strobe lights that were reflecting off of me. I do a slow neck turn to the cashier who is frantically trying to ring me out and is giving the guy THE LOOK also and looking at me like sorry, and I'm looking at her like holy hell glad I don't have to stay in here with this nutcase. So I pretty much just finished the transaction and got the hell outta there while he was still bantering on. I always want to go off on those kind of people...but I don't know how they are going to respond..after all, they aren't all there obviously.

~ I have not one, but two sick kids at home today. Seriously they just.got.over.colds from Christmas time. And tomorrow is class picture day at school, which I really don't want them to miss out on..especially since it's Jayce's first year for class pics..can't miss out on the kindergarten one!

~ Well we traded off our 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Sport Quad Cab for a 2010 Chevy Equinox...good bye gas guzzler. I will really miss that truck, it was suhweet...minus needing to own an oil company to keep it going and the suspension was pretty stiff too. I love the smoothness of the new vehicle. Now we barely feel the bumps in the road instead of feeling like you've been picked up and moved over a couple of inches every time you go over rough patches in the road.

~ I have finally enrolled in college courses. I haven't been to college in many years. This semester I'm taking math and psychology 101. It's beginner math people..I fear/loathe/despise/am sickened by math. I am now on the road to a degree in nursing. It's gonna be a looooooong and most likely stressful road..but I'm on it. I don't want to take a full load, I want to extend it out so I am still able to stay at home with the kids until they are older.

Ok, now for the giveaway. I have learned that a lot of you out there really enjoy cooking. I on the other hand..don't! I.don't.like.to.cook. Yes, I said it. So I am giving away two items today. The first up on the list is this...

The back of this cookbook states "The Silver Spoon is the bible of authentic Italian cooking. Italy's best-selling cookbook for the last fifty years, it features traditional dishes alongside specially written menus by celebrated chefs. Now translated for the first time into English, The Silver Spoon's 2,000 recipes make it an essential classic for everyone who loves good food.

The second part of the giveaway is for those of you that like to sip on a little sumpin' while you're tearin' it up in the kitchen...

This is a stainless steel ladies flask. Get wasted in style! The back of this packaging reads "The flask has been a favorite of bad girls since the prohibition days when naughty ladies would smuggle gin hidden inside their petticoats. Now, it's your turn to look fierce while you get f*cked up! Made of sturdy stainless steel, this stylish 6 oz. flask makes the perfect gift for you or your favorite hip chick."

So here are the rules if you would like to win these two items.

1. For an entry you have to be a follower AND leave a comment stating you would like to be entered to win.
2. For an extra entry, post on your blog about the giveaway and rule #1, and then leave a 2nd comment letting me know that you have posted.

The giveaway will be open for entries until the end of the day tomorrow, January 13, 2010. Good luck to everyone! My goal is to post the winner by Thursday.

Now seriously...since this is my first giveaway I have to find out where to get that random number generator thingy so I can post it on here with the results. So for those of you pros out there that have already been there and done that...Help!

Friend Makin Mondays

Another day in the life of friend makin' mondays, and today's topic is about hairstyles. Amber would like to know...If you cut your hair tomorrow, what would it look like?

Well, let's see here, if I were to cut my hair then I probably wouldn't have much left, as it's already pretty short. So this is what my hair looks like at this moment in time...

Here are a few options that I wouldn't mind having...this first one is one that I've already had and it'll be that way again next hair cut...

This is what I'd like to have if I had thicker hair...I have plenty of hair, but it's fine so looks like I don't have too much...

And here's what I'd like to have when I'm feelin' spunky...

If you would like to participate, then link up with Amber and let us know what you would do!

*Reminder...tomorrow will be my 100th post..and my first giveaway!

Dear Someone

Dear Cold,

Please hit the friggin' road already. No need to stay and linger awhile, please get the hint that I don't really like you.

Sniff Sniff
Snotty Rose

Dear Hot Cocoa and a touch of Malibu,

Mmmmmmm

Enough said

Dear Jayce,

I am so proud of you...you are now pronouncing and reading words! You are really excelling this year in kindergarten, keep up the good work and don't settle into the not really wanting to do the work since you're a boy.

Your oh so happy mama

Dear Stooopid Nurse,

You're not supposed to be telling sweet little grandmothers that you THINK they could possibly have either a bowel blockage OR cancer...and they haven't even had any testing....hence, said sweet little grandmother gets to WORRY until she gets testing. So now she can add STRESS to not feeling good.

Woman who'd give you an earful if I met you
Granny's Granddaughter

Dear Readers,

The kids have just left the house and are off to school...and I immediately cranked on the music and started dancing and shaking it to Apologize from One Republic...oh ya, the joys!

Woman in bliss,
Shaker Girl

~ I would like a weekend away with just my hubby and me
~ I would like to finally put music onto my ipod that's been sitting in it's box for forevaaaah
~ I would like to finally make it out to Lake Powell this summer..never been, it's beautiful

There's lots more that could make it onto this list, but I won't go on forever with it.

Random Tuesday Thoughts

randomtuesday

~ We FINALLY went to bed at a decent hour last night instead of staying up all night playing the Wii. And then...a knock at the bedroom door...our son with a stomach ache. Goodbye early night to bed.

~ A friend of mine is going to be moving to California...I don't like it much, she's my hiking buddy. And if I can't live by the beach and sip on some cocktails then.neither.can.she.

~ I bought another filing cabinet to get crap organized...it's still not done yet.

~ Either I'm too picky or there aren't any good options for kitchen curtains. I've been re-decorating for a while now...hence there are no wall decorations in my living room. My curtains that are in the kitchen were supposed to be temporary...temporary is turning out to be a really long time.

Interested in other peep's randomness?...visit the Un Mom.

Aaahhhhhhh....That Was Great

Well IT finally happened...I have finally gotten my very first massage. I have only been talking about getting one for a decade now, but just never took the time to do it. And now...I bought a yearly membership. I think I may have really enjoyed it!

After the massage lady got done, she told me that I wasn't kidding when I said my left side is kinda messed up by my neck and upper back...pinched nerve and pain. She said I had a pretty good size knot. I may have drooled during the session...ok, so not really..but I'm not so sure I would've cared if I did. I really could've fallen asleep, but I didn't do that either.

By the time she got done and told me it was time to dress again, I was really glad that my friend lives just down the street from there....my hair looked crazy...just picture Cameron Diaz in There's Something About Mary. Yep, massage oil (no not that other stuff!) was in my hair, and I was looking a little crazy like. So I had to go to my friends house to wash my hair so people wouldn't be giving me crazy looks...in which I would've had to reply to them "well at least it was good!".

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!!! I fell off the radar for a little while there, but now I'm back. I didn't even write a good bye note for when I was gone! Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed their new year celebration.

Here is a little of what we have been doing. We spent Christmas here at home first and then spent time at my grandparnet's house..they live just down the road from me. Let's see..we all got a cold here in the house. We spent New Year's Eve at Shortmama's house. We played the Wii all night. Well...we half way played anyways...we were too busy cracking up to really get anywhere..but we had great fun! I don't even know how we were cracking up so much since we weren't even tipsy.

I have to tell you..on Christmas day I learned a very important lesson. Do.Not.Wake.The.Kids.If.They.Aren't.Up.Before.Your.Excited.Booty.Is.Up. Seriously. I was the first person up and decided to get everyone up to enjoy the festivities of the day. I will not do this again. I have learned that the two youngest aren't made for getting up before they wake on their own. It was a cat fight with attitude(taylor)/whining(jayce) all.day.long with those two. They drove us crazy.

Here is a little glimpse of what our Christmas looked like...

Here's Miss Alyssa being woken up Christmas morning...

And here's Taylor startled awake...

And here's sleepy boy Jayce...

Me and my brother at granny's house...

And Jason playing our new Wii on our new TV in our bedroom...our pre-Merry Christmas to Us!

We also went to two Christmas parties during this time. One for the fire department since I am on the board...and the other for my husband's company. I have to say I was a little uncomfortable attending the one for my husband's company...I can be pretty shy when I don't know someone (even though I spit it all out here, go figure)...and I didn't know any of the people there, but they all knew at least someone there. I must have a double personality..I'll say anything and everything in front of people I know..but put me in a group full of strangers and you can just fuhgetaboutit. Not always..but most of the time.

Hmm..while posting up these pics I have noticed that my husband set the wrong date on the camera...geez!!! Anywho...that was a little glimpse of our holiday..hope everyone had nothing but good times.
