Here is a little of what we have been doing. We spent Christmas here at home first and then spent time at my grandparnet's house..they live just down the road from me. Let's see..we all got a cold here in the house. We spent New Year's Eve at Shortmama's house. We played the Wii all night. Well...we half way played anyways...we were too busy cracking up to really get anywhere..but we had great fun! I don't even know how we were cracking up so much since we weren't even tipsy.
I have to tell you..on Christmas day I learned a very important lesson. Do.Not.Wake.The.Kids.If.They.Aren't.Up.Before.Your.Excited.Booty.Is.Up. Seriously. I was the first person up and decided to get everyone up to enjoy the festivities of the day. I will not do this again. I have learned that the two youngest aren't made for getting up before they wake on their own. It was a cat fight with attitude(taylor)/whining(jayce) all.day.long with those two. They drove us crazy.
Here is a little glimpse of what our Christmas looked like...
Here's Miss Alyssa being woken up Christmas morning...
And here's Taylor startled awake...
And here's sleepy boy Jayce...
Me and my brother at granny's house...
Hmm..while posting up these pics I have noticed that my husband set the wrong date on the camera...geez!!! Anywho...that was a little glimpse of our holiday..hope everyone had nothing but good times.
Hey..I learned that kid waking up lesson many years ago...."not pretty."
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderfully blessed New Year!!

I did the waking up the kids thing for a couple of years, but I always made myself wait until it was almost daylight. This year they turned the tables on me and woke me up at 4:50am. Daddy said he wasn't getting up until the sun was up, so we hung out on the couch for a few hours.
ReplyDeleteAnd we are two peas in a pod! I also forget how to talk in public situations. I am so shy around people I don't know, but man if you know me - I don't shut up.
Glad you had a great Christmas and New Year's - sorry you were sick :(
I learned a long time ago never to wake a sleeping baby/kid if you don't absolutely have to and I stick to it! I am glad you had a good celebration anyway. Happy New Year! So glad you're back :)
ReplyDeleteYa, I learned not to wake the kids up last year. I love your kids rooms btw! Don't think I could do bright green rooms but my youngest would probably love it! Happy New Year girl!
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Holidays to you & yours, Rose. It sounds like you had a wonderful time. We, too, were spoiled with a Wii from Santa, but this Mom hasn't even gotten a turn! My hubs is now a Wii-whore;)
ReplyDeleteWii love the Wii!! Get it?
ReplyDeleteCan your kids teach mine how to sleep in?! I would (most likely) kill for that "problem." I'm sick of waking up at 6:30-7 every day :O *yawn*
ReplyDeleteOk I hadnt seen the kids rooms since they were repainted, holy freakin neon green in Alyssa's room!!
ReplyDeleteCant comment long....I hear the Wii calling my name soon. Damn Mario Bros...
Wow, I can't believe your kids were asleep longer than you! That never happened in my house growing up!
ReplyDeleteI'd be the same at a company party. I'm always shy around people I don't know and forget how to hold conversations like a normal human being. It stinks.
