Night At The Daughtry Concert

Last night my friend Charlene and I had a great time at the Daughtry concert. I enjoyed the whole show, even though I didn't know a couple of the songs. I think we were just happy to be owwwwt!

So Cavo was the opening act, and then Lifehouse was next, and then the main event was Daughtry. At one point in time Daughtry and Lifehouse were on stage together. We just had a great time there. We danced, we sang along, were crazy women.

When we first got there we went to the souvenir stand first. Had to get that stuff before it got too packed. I bought a Daughtry T-Shirt and their tour book. Charlene got herself a keychain. Next up was a food stop for some pretzels, and then the Margarita stand. I asked for a keg, but they didn't supply! Hmph! Charlene bought herself some almond and pecans roasted in something that smelled yummy. Let me tell ya, she protected those nuts! First she tucked her nuts safely in her pocket and kept making sure she didn't lose them. She was nice enough to see if I wanted some of her nuts though. And in the end, she forgot her nuts under the chair when we left. Awww nuts!

Ok, climbing outta the gutter now! We didn't get too many pictures since all the lights in there kind of make things blurry. But we got a couple of good shots. We even took pictures of our stop at Jack in the Box on the way home! I just couldn't pass up a comical moment!

So here are some of the pics....

This is when we first got seated...you see Charlene?...she's eating the, um, nuts...

And here we are still waiting, so we had the girls sitting next to us snap a pic of us...

Not too good quality of a pic here, but this is when Daughtry and Lifehouse were both on stage...

See the guy in the white shirt and then the guy standing to the left of him?, that is the drummer and one of the guitar players for Cavo...they were standing not far from us watching Lifehouse up on stage...

This one is a little, ok maybe a lot, blurry, but I was dancing and having a good time!

This was outside after the show. It was windy as heck, so I was fighting back so I wouldn't get blown over!

See...this is how windy it was outside! Charlene's hair was EVERYWHERE like she was rockin' out or something!

So here we were in the drive through at Jack in the Box. I couldn't resist this opportunity. I was digging out my money and happened to look over there and see the pic of Jack in the car looking over and smiling. So I told Charlene to grab the camera and take a pic for proof that Jack was checkin' us out!!!

And here was Charlene sipping on her chocolate shake...yummy!

Oh ya, I almost forgot. After the concert was over, we left the seating area and were walking down the hallway towards our exit. Well Charlene wanted to go back into the seating area closer to the stage to get a better view of the set up. So we walked back in to the curtains and were watching the crew take everything down. I was just standing there for a little bit, so I went to turn to tell her something. And she wasn't there. Instead, there was a whole group of security right behind me, and I literally mean that one of them was right behind me with his face close to my back. Ya, a little startled! I'm pretty sure I said something along the lines of "ahhhhhhhhh"! Anyways, he told me I have a wicked tattoo on my back. Creep...scared the crap outta me. Personal space issues! I found Charlene on the other side of the curtain...whew!

We really had lots of fun...can't wait for the next one!

Concert Day!!!

Woooo to the freakin' Hoooooooo!!! The day has finally arrived! I get to go and see the Daughtry/Lifehouse/Cavo Concert in 5 hours! Actually, 5 1/2, but who's counting right!

Here's a speck of comedy when it comes to concert days. Most of the time it's like rush, rush, rush to make sure everything is done so you can get out of the door in time. So here is a peek into today's scenario. Get up, get kids ready for school and ship their bootay's outta the door, finish getting dressed, head out to breakfast with my hubby whom I luvy, sit at the restaurant with him and talk crap about the junkies driving a truck about 40 mph on the freeway, leave the restaurant and part ways with the hubby, head off to math class, cram new information in, leave and head to a store to see if I can find a cute outfit, decide not to go to the bank cause I'll just hit up an ATM to get some money to take to the concert, stop at the gas station on the way home to get some gas and go through the drive through car wash, have to wait cause some painters are blocking the path into the car wash so decide to go to Mcdonald's for some lunch, head back to the carwash, watch some worker get sprayed by the car wash cause he's at the end on a ladder painting something all while I'm sitting in my car eating my hamburger and fries, leave and head home, stop at the little store in town first to withdraw money from the ATM, ATM IS OUT OF MONEY, stop and check mail, head home. Quick trip on here to do my post, have to look over my board packet some more for a meeting tomorrow at the fire station, would like to fit in some exercise, and then a shower. Kids will be home and wreaking havoc at about 3:30, will have to make them some dinner and do their homework, get their baths going, chores. And then I will have to make it out the door at 5:45 to go and pick up my friend Charlene so we can head out like the excited crazy women that we are. WHEW....wonder if I can fit a nap in there somewhere...nope, too busy thinking of where I need to stop and withdraw some mula.

Oh ya, I still have to paint my nails too, and......ugh! Gotta go!

Random Thoughts

~This morning started out with a bang. As in, me banging out the front door to the sound of a trash truck coming. Ya, cause I realized that my hubby didn't drag out the trash for pick up today...it was a deja vu moment of last week. Except last week it didn't get picked up cause I thought he had it out. Soooo, I had to end up calling for a Friday pick up for last week, in which I got a little ticked at the trash company. I called for them to pick up on Friday since I missed it that Tuesday, so the lady puts me on hold for a second, and then she comes back on the line and says "well, you have two options". I was already thinking to myself that this was going to be good...you know, the sarcastic kind of good. So she tells me that I can either wait until pick up next Tuesday, which is today. Um, stop the presses please. I'm pretty sure I called because I NEED the garbage to be emptied. The can was full. I'm thinking I wouldn't have called if I could've waited until next week. So then she says the other option is that they could pick it up Friday but they would have to charge me an extra $15 since they have to go so far out of their way. Ok, STOP the presses. I was silent for a few seconds and then I let out a little laugh. I asked her what she meant by "so far out of the way". She said since Friday's are pick up for the opposite side of town that they have to go out of their way to come and get mine. I THEN proceeded to remind her that this is a VERY small town and that it takes approximately 1 minute to get from my house to the "other" side of town. Get real.

~I'm so excited that tomorrow night my friend Charlene and I get to go to the Daughtry/Lifehouse/Cavo Concert! I'm so wishing we were allowed to take cameras. The no camera rule is jacked!

~I think Shortmama MIGHT put up some pics today of our night over there the other night. You know the one I talked about yesterday, the story of her being hopped up on Benadryl? And the silly things she did? Not sure if she'll do it or not, cause her post for the day isn't up yet. But I'll link her name to her blog so you all can check in and see if she does post the pics!

Summer's A'Comin'

I have to say that I am pretty excited that I only have 4 more days of math class and either 4 or 5 days of psychology class left. Then out for the summer. I have been enjoying attending classes again, even if it's only a little with the math class :) I'm taking the summer off so I can have a break and so I don't have to have others watch the kids for me. Fall semester I will be back at it taking another math class and an english class. I also have to say that I will miss my cussing classmate in math this semester. She kept things, um, lively to say the least!

I guess on Memorial Day weekend we as a family are going on a camping trip with some of our neighbors and a whole slew of other people. I don't know who all is going. So I'm partly excited and partly ancy. Maybe I can get Shortmama and her family conned in to going with us! Hint, hint shorty....cause I know you are reading this! So that's a good thing to do for the start of our summer events. My hubby's two older kids will be out here for a week during the summer, so we'll do lots of water stuff and possibly camping while they are out here. And then we also hope to take a week's vacation sometime while the kids are out of school also. The beach...ya, the beach sounds good! Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Oh ya...almost forgot...this past weekend we went to Shortmama's house for dinner. We kind of invited ourselves and then called them to "ask" if we could come over. Ya, that's how we do things around here. So anyways, we tried a new drink while we were there. And then we were playing cards and Amanda's allergies started bothering her. So she took 2 Benadryl. Mmm hmm. Give me two of those things and I'm knocked out....give Shorty two of those things and sit back for the show people! I wish I had the pics to show you, but unfortunately, they are all on her blackberry. Girl was laughing up a storm, making silly faces and cracking us the hell up!

My Little Cussing Granny

You know, I've always heard that as people age, some tend to not care anymore about certain things. We'll take my granny for instance. My little granny has been a church-goer for the majority of her life. They now don't attend, but it's only due to the corruptions that they have seen in the church's. So now granny and grandpa keep up with their beliefs at home. Now that said, granny has never really been one to cuss. Mmm mmm. Not her. As far as I can remember, granny never used to cuss as I was growing up, and my grandparents are the ones that raised me. I have only one memory of her uttering a cuss word, and that is when she told me to go and change my shorts cause my ass was hanging out. Ah, good memories!

So anyways, today my granny and I spent the day out eating and shopping. Well on the way home we were talking about poo. Literally. I know, you're welcome for the information. But anypoo, my granny also shares things that she never would utter a word of before. And I'm only mentioning it here, cause well, she happens to share this same info with people she runs into at the grocery store. I know, they are welcome for the information too. So it happens to be that she's a little stopped up and she's not "going" like she should. So, I decided to be a smartass and tell her "sorry to tell you granny, but I think you are full of poop". In which she responded "well I always heard it told as being full of shit". Ya, I just cracked up.

I on the other hand have a tendency to cuss too often....but shhhhh! Don't tell granny!

Dear Someone

Dear Me,

Go make some coffee and then come back and do this post. I need a wake up kick in the butt.

Tired Woman

Dear Anyone,

I've got two dogs for sale...they make for good alarm clocks at about 5 a.m. each morning.

Woman who isn't in need of an early wake up call

Dear Boat,

So glad you are finally fixed and re-upholstered. Can't wait for the weather to get a bit warmer so we can get out on the lake again and enjoy boating and being pulled on the tube. And throwing Jason off the tube. And listening to little Jayce tell us to pull him faster on the tube. And watching the girls do crazy jumps off of you. Oh ya, I like it all except for having to slather with the kids SPF 70 sunscreen, cause it's the only thing that works in preventing me from turning in to a lobster.

Water lovin' Me

Dear Weather,

Um, ya, I was kind of liking the tank top, flip flop weather. And now you're being evil with cooler temps and rain. I don't mind the rain, but really, do you have to be so cold hearted?

Chilly Rose

Link up with Shortmama if you would like to participate in Dear Someone Letters!

Random Thoughts

~I was going to start this off by talking about my day yesterday. But I have to mention this mornings events first. It's a bit hairy you see. As in, a little less hair. My 13-year-old chopped.her.hair.off.last.night. She comes to me this morning and tells me that she was trying to cut the tag off of her pajama top and that she ended up getting her hair too, so then she just finished cutting the rest. Her hair used to be, um, maybe 4-5 inches past her shoulders. Now it's at her shoulders. I don't know how she got it so straight. It's seriously pretty straight minus a few long single pieces here and there. You see, she's done this once before, but that was when she was in kindergarten. She gave herself a mullet that time. Ya, it was great. She may have really accidentally cut it when cutting the tag, but I'm not so sure that I'm buying that story.

~Now about yesterday's events. My day started out normally. I dropped my granny off at the superwalmart on my way to my math class. After class I went and picked her up from her shopping and we made a pit stop at Taco Bell drive through for some lunch. It's only about a 13 minute drive from the Taco Bell to our home. Well...we didn't quite make it home. You see, sometimes I feel like I am going to pass out. Sometimes this happens when I am driving. I can tell you each time it scares the crap outta me. So anyways, I had to pull over and get off of the freeway. Usually when this happens, I pull over and sit there for a minute and the feeling passes and I can continue on. Well a couple of years ago I went to the doctor about it and I went through a test to find out that I'm hypoglycemic. That means my blood sugar drops too low, which causes shakiness, feeling faint, and not being able to think as clear.

So anyways, this time it wasn't going away like before. It would start to go away and then it would come back. So I don't remember everything too clearly, but I know that I called my husband, luckily he was still home. I was going to have Shortmama go and pick him up and drop him off where we were so he could finish driving us home. But the imminent feeling of passing out kept coming back, so I ended up calling for the ambulance instead. I luckily never did pass out...thank goodness, cause let me tell ya, I don't really get sick and I hate this passing out feeling, all I could think was I don't wanna die. Ya, passing out makes me think that. But, this episode seems to be a mystery. My vitals were fine. My tests at the hospital all came back normal. So the doctor there doesn't know what caused it. My sugar levels in the ambulance tested at 80, and at the hospital they were 91. So the nurse is wondering if my sugar crashed and then my body compensated for it and started bringing the levels up. I don't really know. I just know I'd like an answer, cause frankly that stuff scares the shit outta me. And I don't get scared easily....unless it's passing out or spiders. So now I have to do a follow-up appointment with my family physician. I'm hoping to figure it all out, cause I'd like these episodes to end.

Heeellllllooooo, Is Anyone Out There?

I'm sore. I'm just sayin'. Aren't you happy to know? I've done the Jillian 30 Day Shred 2 nights in a row now. And I'm sore. I haven't done it in a while, so I figured I better get motivated again. Gotta keep it up ya know, can't let the high cholesterol kick my butt without me kicking back.

Anyone out there heard of P90x? Well, I happen to know that that is the work out that P!NK uses. And she's pretty fit. Ok, so I don't want to be all ripped, but some definition would be great. So, my hubby and I decided that we are going to buy the dvd's and get our selves in gear. He asked me if I would really use it. Pshaw...(here comes my valley girl accent) like, I've totally been doing the dvd's that I already have from Jillian and Denise Austin (maybe not so recent) and he has been doing just what?! Um, none of it! Not that he really needs to though. Geez, men never need to really. They can just think about being fit, and bam, it's done.

So anysore, anyone out there have any experience yet with the P90x? Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Um, Creepy!

shortmama

Ok, so today I received my swap package from Mimi @ Living In France. This was the swap hosted by Shortmama. Oh, that's not creepy you say? Well, let me explain a lil' something to ya. We sent each other some of the same.damn.things! That's what makes it creepy! So here are the awesome things that I received from her...

In this first picture all the way on the left, she sent me something to hang on my wall. She heard from a little birdie, namely Shortmama, what my living room theme is. So thanks Mimi! My living room walls will be a little less lonely now. In the middle is a cute little tote bag with some flowers on it, it will be great for my books. And then on the right is a cute little towel with a little spring chick on it.

Now here's where things are a little creepy, cause I sent her some of these same things. On the top left is an awesome Ed Hardy travel mug. To the right of that is a sheet of cute spring tattoos for my kids, cause she know that I have some tats. To the right of that is a pair of purple flip flops, and on top of them is a bottle of purple nail polish. And all the way on the right is a bottle of, you guessed it, purple nail polish remover. I love me some purple! She found that out from that little birdie too. Ok, moving on now. In the middle is a box of jelly beans, and just below that are some purple peeps. Mmm, sugar sugar! I LURV me some peeps! And to the right of some peeps is a book by Meg Cabot called Queen of Babble. You tryin' to say something Mimi?!

So that is the awesome loot that I received from Mimi....so Thank You Mimi!!! I had fun shopping for you, and I love what you sent.

Random Thoughts

~I swear I can't go anywhere for any amount of time without something going haywire. I was at a funeral yesterday, and noticed I had missed 2 calls from the school. So I call my friend Shortmama to see if she could go and pick up my son, cause the messages said that he had a migraine. The lady who called sounded a little short when she left the 2nd message asking for us to come and pick him up. I didn't even call the school at this time since I had already gotten confirmation from my friend that she could pick him up, she was originally going to pick them up after school anyways. So anypissedoff, I find out later on why they didn't call anyone else on the call list to pick him up....cause they stated there wasn't anyone besides me and my husband on the call list for him. Mmmkay, BS. I've got 3 kids there, they all have the same people on the call list, except my oldest has a few more on hers. So they actually had to ask my OLDEST daughter what to do! It took a 13 year old to tell them to look on her younger sister's list, cause they have the same list. And what do you know, they found out who to call. But I mean really, everyone knows everyone in this small town, and they know already how Shortmama and my grandma are the ones to get them. So in the midst of all this, my little boy had to sit at school with a terrible headache, they did reach my grandmother to go and get him. So Shortmama ended up going to the school for nothing. Ok, rant over!

~I'm so excited, there's just over 2 weeks until my friend Charlene and I go to the Daughtry concert!

~I'm also excited to receive my swap package from Mimi and for her to receive the one I sent off to her. Come on snail mail! Holy hellbilly, I just clicked on Mimi's blog so I could link her name....and she's already posted the stuff she's received from me! That's it...Imma go park my booty at the post office and protest for faster service!

~We're getting a pretty good tax refund this year, I think I fell in love with our tax person because of it. So we each get some play money along with money for savings and paying things off. Hmm, what to do with mine. Maybe put it towards lots of concerts, maybe some comedy shows...Cheech and Chong are coming to town....that ought to be interesting. Oh there's so many things to think about using it on!

In Loving Memory

On April 9th the family suffered the loss of one of my husband's grandfathers. In the short amount of years that I have gotten to know him, I can truly say that I loved that man. He was always so kind and spunky, very accepting and loving. He was that way up until his last day. I can't even express how wonderful he was. He will be missed by so many. Two of his adult granddaughter's wrote a letter about him, expressing what a wonderful and loving grandfather he has always been and how he from the start always treated them as family. You see, he wasn't their original grandfather. Their original grandfather passed away many, many years ago. And when Gerald stepped in, he accepted them and treated them as family right from the start. His granddaughter was very strong as she stood up there and read this. I think he left a loving mark on everyone he touched, as I can say I feel the same she did even though I was married in to the family, he was always very loving and welcoming, and boy could he make you smile and laugh.

Random Tuesday Thoughts

~I got a 91 on my last Psych test in class. I've been getting A's and B's in there. Wish I could say the same for my math class, been getting A's, B's and C's...and a whole lot of cursing...in math class. Cause damn it, it pisses me off when I can't figure something out!

~It was really funny in band camp math class the other day. The instructor was talking about graphs. She used her APS graph as an example. Then the subject went to a competition on her block to get the lowest APS bill. She said she keeps it about 83 degrees in her house. So one of the other students said "you guys must go through a lot of deodorant". We all busted up laughing, including the instructor.

~I hate laundry. I'm just sayin'.

~Look...I'm a mom. I know. News flash here. Buuuuuut....my son...oh, my son. I love him to pieces, but that boy sure can get on my last nerve. It takes him FOREVER to get what he's asked to do done. Pick up toys. Pick up toys...1/2 hour later he's finally done. Get pajamas on and go to the bathroom and brush teeth...another 1/2 hour. FOREVER. Frustratingly FOREVER. By now my nerves is bad. They are frazzled. They are short circuiting. Bzzzzzp.

Our Easter

We spent Easter morning relaxing, and then in the early afternoon the kids hunted for their eggs. After that, we took a ranger ride out into the mountains and let the kids play in the river again. We'd live in the/by the/at the river if we could.

I also got a call from my dad. He called me a few weeks back telling me of some medical problems he was going through, and he called to let me know that he also found out that his liver is hardening. Sclerosis of the liver. My father is homeless, has deep depression. Been this way for 10+ years. It is hard to hear this about him, but I knew one day it would come down to this as he turns to alcohol for his comfort. I can't say I really get it, I just know I have always wished things to be different. I do love him and can't stand to see his pain.

Well here is a snapshot or a few of our day at the river....

Alyssa thought the water was going to help her float down...

Taylor burying herself...

Mr. Jayce wading...

I promised Jason I wouldn't post the funny pic of him, so I had to settle for this one...

And see, I was there too!

Water Babies

So life has been happening, and I haven't posted in a couple of days, but I am now back.

I took my kids to the river the other day, and they had a good time splashing around. I on the other hand stayed on the sidelines and didn't join in on the fun, other than the fun of watching them be crazy. I injured my big toe back in February...it takes me forever to heal...and the toe nail is falling.off. It looks beautiful. So I didn't get in the water cause I didn't want any germs making their way in and end up with an infection.

So here are the kids having a good time...

I have such great memories of hanging out at the river as a kid, and now I love watching my own kids play in the same river that I enjoyed in my youth. Although, in my youth I wasn't supposed to be hanging out at the river, but there are a few eyes around town that ended up tellin' on me. But I always ended up there again, it was too fun to not!
