Night At The Daughtry Concert

Last night my friend Charlene and I had a great time at the Daughtry concert. I enjoyed the whole show, even though I didn't know a couple of the songs. I think we were just happy to be owwwwt!

So Cavo was the opening act, and then Lifehouse was next, and then the main event was Daughtry. At one point in time Daughtry and Lifehouse were on stage together. We just had a great time there. We danced, we sang along, were crazy women.

When we first got there we went to the souvenir stand first. Had to get that stuff before it got too packed. I bought a Daughtry T-Shirt and their tour book. Charlene got herself a keychain. Next up was a food stop for some pretzels, and then the Margarita stand. I asked for a keg, but they didn't supply! Hmph! Charlene bought herself some almond and pecans roasted in something that smelled yummy. Let me tell ya, she protected those nuts! First she tucked her nuts safely in her pocket and kept making sure she didn't lose them. She was nice enough to see if I wanted some of her nuts though. And in the end, she forgot her nuts under the chair when we left. Awww nuts!

Ok, climbing outta the gutter now! We didn't get too many pictures since all the lights in there kind of make things blurry. But we got a couple of good shots. We even took pictures of our stop at Jack in the Box on the way home! I just couldn't pass up a comical moment!

So here are some of the pics....

This is when we first got seated...you see Charlene?...she's eating the, um, nuts...

And here we are still waiting, so we had the girls sitting next to us snap a pic of us...

Not too good quality of a pic here, but this is when Daughtry and Lifehouse were both on stage...

See the guy in the white shirt and then the guy standing to the left of him?, that is the drummer and one of the guitar players for Cavo...they were standing not far from us watching Lifehouse up on stage...

This one is a little, ok maybe a lot, blurry, but I was dancing and having a good time!

This was outside after the show. It was windy as heck, so I was fighting back so I wouldn't get blown over!

See...this is how windy it was outside! Charlene's hair was EVERYWHERE like she was rockin' out or something!

So here we were in the drive through at Jack in the Box. I couldn't resist this opportunity. I was digging out my money and happened to look over there and see the pic of Jack in the car looking over and smiling. So I told Charlene to grab the camera and take a pic for proof that Jack was checkin' us out!!!

And here was Charlene sipping on her chocolate shake...yummy!

Oh ya, I almost forgot. After the concert was over, we left the seating area and were walking down the hallway towards our exit. Well Charlene wanted to go back into the seating area closer to the stage to get a better view of the set up. So we walked back in to the curtains and were watching the crew take everything down. I was just standing there for a little bit, so I went to turn to tell her something. And she wasn't there. Instead, there was a whole group of security right behind me, and I literally mean that one of them was right behind me with his face close to my back. Ya, a little startled! I'm pretty sure I said something along the lines of "ahhhhhhhhh"! Anyways, he told me I have a wicked tattoo on my back. Creep...scared the crap outta me. Personal space issues! I found Charlene on the other side of the curtain...whew!

We really had lots of fun...can't wait for the next one!

Concert Day!!!

Woooo to the freakin' Hoooooooo!!! The day has finally arrived! I get to go and see the Daughtry/Lifehouse/Cavo Concert in 5 hours! Actually, 5 1/2, but who's counting right!

Here's a speck of comedy when it comes to concert days. Most of the time it's like rush, rush, rush to make sure everything is done so you can get out of the door in time. So here is a peek into today's scenario. Get up, get kids ready for school and ship their bootay's outta the door, finish getting dressed, head out to breakfast with my hubby whom I luvy, sit at the restaurant with him and talk crap about the junkies driving a truck about 40 mph on the freeway, leave the restaurant and part ways with the hubby, head off to math class, cram new information in, leave and head to a store to see if I can find a cute outfit, decide not to go to the bank cause I'll just hit up an ATM to get some money to take to the concert, stop at the gas station on the way home to get some gas and go through the drive through car wash, have to wait cause some painters are blocking the path into the car wash so decide to go to Mcdonald's for some lunch, head back to the carwash, watch some worker get sprayed by the car wash cause he's at the end on a ladder painting something all while I'm sitting in my car eating my hamburger and fries, leave and head home, stop at the little store in town first to withdraw money from the ATM, ATM IS OUT OF MONEY, stop and check mail, head home. Quick trip on here to do my post, have to look over my board packet some more for a meeting tomorrow at the fire station, would like to fit in some exercise, and then a shower. Kids will be home and wreaking havoc at about 3:30, will have to make them some dinner and do their homework, get their baths going, chores. And then I will have to make it out the door at 5:45 to go and pick up my friend Charlene so we can head out like the excited crazy women that we are. WHEW....wonder if I can fit a nap in there somewhere...nope, too busy thinking of where I need to stop and withdraw some mula.

Oh ya, I still have to paint my nails too, and......ugh! Gotta go!

Random Thoughts

~This morning started out with a bang. As in, me banging out the front door to the sound of a trash truck coming. Ya, cause I realized that my hubby didn't drag out the trash for pick up today...it was a deja vu moment of last week. Except last week it didn't get picked up cause I thought he had it out. Soooo, I had to end up calling for a Friday pick up for last week, in which I got a little ticked at the trash company. I called for them to pick up on Friday since I missed it that Tuesday, so the lady puts me on hold for a second, and then she comes back on the line and says "well, you have two options". I was already thinking to myself that this was going to be good...you know, the sarcastic kind of good. So she tells me that I can either wait until pick up next Tuesday, which is today. Um, stop the presses please. I'm pretty sure I called because I NEED the garbage to be emptied. The can was full. I'm thinking I wouldn't have called if I could've waited until next week. So then she says the other option is that they could pick it up Friday but they would have to charge me an extra $15 since they have to go so far out of their way. Ok, STOP the presses. I was silent for a few seconds and then I let out a little laugh. I asked her what she meant by "so far out of the way". She said since Friday's are pick up for the opposite side of town that they have to go out of their way to come and get mine. I THEN proceeded to remind her that this is a VERY small town and that it takes approximately 1 minute to get from my house to the "other" side of town. Get real.

~I'm so excited that tomorrow night my friend Charlene and I get to go to the Daughtry/Lifehouse/Cavo Concert! I'm so wishing we were allowed to take cameras. The no camera rule is jacked!

~I think Shortmama MIGHT put up some pics today of our night over there the other night. You know the one I talked about yesterday, the story of her being hopped up on Benadryl? And the silly things she did? Not sure if she'll do it or not, cause her post for the day isn't up yet. But I'll link her name to her blog so you all can check in and see if she does post the pics!

Summer's A'Comin'

I have to say that I am pretty excited that I only have 4 more days of math class and either 4 or 5 days of psychology class left. Then out for the summer. I have been enjoying attending classes again, even if it's only a little with the math class :) I'm taking the summer off so I can have a break and so I don't have to have others watch the kids for me. Fall semester I will be back at it taking another math class and an english class. I also have to say that I will miss my cussing classmate in math this semester. She kept things, um, lively to say the least!

I guess on Memorial Day weekend we as a family are going on a camping trip with some of our neighbors and a whole slew of other people. I don't know who all is going. So I'm partly excited and partly ancy. Maybe I can get Shortmama and her family conned in to going with us! Hint, hint shorty....cause I know you are reading this! So that's a good thing to do for the start of our summer events. My hubby's two older kids will be out here for a week during the summer, so we'll do lots of water stuff and possibly camping while they are out here. And then we also hope to take a week's vacation sometime while the kids are out of school also. The beach...ya, the beach sounds good! Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Oh ya...almost forgot...this past weekend we went to Shortmama's house for dinner. We kind of invited ourselves and then called them to "ask" if we could come over. Ya, that's how we do things around here. So anyways, we tried a new drink while we were there. And then we were playing cards and Amanda's allergies started bothering her. So she took 2 Benadryl. Mmm hmm. Give me two of those things and I'm knocked out....give Shorty two of those things and sit back for the show people! I wish I had the pics to show you, but unfortunately, they are all on her blackberry. Girl was laughing up a storm, making silly faces and cracking us the hell up!

My Little Cussing Granny

You know, I've always heard that as people age, some tend to not care anymore about certain things. We'll take my granny for instance. My little granny has been a church-goer for the majority of her life. They now don't attend, but it's only due to the corruptions that they have seen in the church's. So now granny and grandpa keep up with their beliefs at home. Now that said, granny has never really been one to cuss. Mmm mmm. Not her. As far as I can remember, granny never used to cuss as I was growing up, and my grandparents are the ones that raised me. I have only one memory of her uttering a cuss word, and that is when she told me to go and change my shorts cause my ass was hanging out. Ah, good memories!

So anyways, today my granny and I spent the day out eating and shopping. Well on the way home we were talking about poo. Literally. I know, you're welcome for the information. But anypoo, my granny also shares things that she never would utter a word of before. And I'm only mentioning it here, cause well, she happens to share this same info with people she runs into at the grocery store. I know, they are welcome for the information too. So it happens to be that she's a little stopped up and she's not "going" like she should. So, I decided to be a smartass and tell her "sorry to tell you granny, but I think you are full of poop". In which she responded "well I always heard it told as being full of shit". Ya, I just cracked up.

I on the other hand have a tendency to cuss too often....but shhhhh! Don't tell granny!

Dear Someone

Dear Me,

Go make some coffee and then come back and do this post. I need a wake up kick in the butt.

Tired Woman

Dear Anyone,

I've got two dogs for sale...they make for good alarm clocks at about 5 a.m. each morning.

Woman who isn't in need of an early wake up call

Dear Boat,

So glad you are finally fixed and re-upholstered. Can't wait for the weather to get a bit warmer so we can get out on the lake again and enjoy boating and being pulled on the tube. And throwing Jason off the tube. And listening to little Jayce tell us to pull him faster on the tube. And watching the girls do crazy jumps off of you. Oh ya, I like it all except for having to slather with the kids SPF 70 sunscreen, cause it's the only thing that works in preventing me from turning in to a lobster.

Water lovin' Me

Dear Weather,

Um, ya, I was kind of liking the tank top, flip flop weather. And now you're being evil with cooler temps and rain. I don't mind the rain, but really, do you have to be so cold hearted?

Chilly Rose

Link up with Shortmama if you would like to participate in Dear Someone Letters!

Random Thoughts

~I was going to start this off by talking about my day yesterday. But I have to mention this mornings events first. It's a bit hairy you see. As in, a little less hair. My 13-year-old chopped.her.hair.off.last.night. She comes to me this morning and tells me that she was trying to cut the tag off of her pajama top and that she ended up getting her hair too, so then she just finished cutting the rest. Her hair used to be, um, maybe 4-5 inches past her shoulders. Now it's at her shoulders. I don't know how she got it so straight. It's seriously pretty straight minus a few long single pieces here and there. You see, she's done this once before, but that was when she was in kindergarten. She gave herself a mullet that time. Ya, it was great. She may have really accidentally cut it when cutting the tag, but I'm not so sure that I'm buying that story.

~Now about yesterday's events. My day started out normally. I dropped my granny off at the superwalmart on my way to my math class. After class I went and picked her up from her shopping and we made a pit stop at Taco Bell drive through for some lunch. It's only about a 13 minute drive from the Taco Bell to our home. Well...we didn't quite make it home. You see, sometimes I feel like I am going to pass out. Sometimes this happens when I am driving. I can tell you each time it scares the crap outta me. So anyways, I had to pull over and get off of the freeway. Usually when this happens, I pull over and sit there for a minute and the feeling passes and I can continue on. Well a couple of years ago I went to the doctor about it and I went through a test to find out that I'm hypoglycemic. That means my blood sugar drops too low, which causes shakiness, feeling faint, and not being able to think as clear.

So anyways, this time it wasn't going away like before. It would start to go away and then it would come back. So I don't remember everything too clearly, but I know that I called my husband, luckily he was still home. I was going to have Shortmama go and pick him up and drop him off where we were so he could finish driving us home. But the imminent feeling of passing out kept coming back, so I ended up calling for the ambulance instead. I luckily never did pass out...thank goodness, cause let me tell ya, I don't really get sick and I hate this passing out feeling, all I could think was I don't wanna die. Ya, passing out makes me think that. But, this episode seems to be a mystery. My vitals were fine. My tests at the hospital all came back normal. So the doctor there doesn't know what caused it. My sugar levels in the ambulance tested at 80, and at the hospital they were 91. So the nurse is wondering if my sugar crashed and then my body compensated for it and started bringing the levels up. I don't really know. I just know I'd like an answer, cause frankly that stuff scares the shit outta me. And I don't get scared easily....unless it's passing out or spiders. So now I have to do a follow-up appointment with my family physician. I'm hoping to figure it all out, cause I'd like these episodes to end.
