Mm'kay...today I am going to do a Meme hosted by SupahMommy and MommyBrain, and the prompt is copied straight from them...
Tell us about a time you got pulled over.
If there are too many times to chose just one,
If you've never been pulled over (seriously?!),
tell us what you've done in your car that could get you pulled over!
(didn't mean that to sound so racy!)
If you're a goody two-shoes to the nth degree,
tell us a funny story involving a car!
Ok, so here's my story(s)...
FIRST OFFENSE:
The first time that I ever got pulled over was, er, about 6 years ago. I had a new Hyundai Tiburon at the time, and I really should've became friends with cruise control back then. But anyspeed, I was driving down the way with my husband, which back then we were pretty much in a new relationship, so we was just datin'. The posted speed was 65 and I was going just under 80. Now that's not the norm for me. The norm for me is to go 5 mph over the limit...just on the freeway though. So...next thing I know I see an officer behind me, lights not on yet. Jason notices too...and he also notices that I'm not slowing down. So he asks the obvious "well aren't you going to slow down". To which I reply, nope, he already caught me, no sense in trying to hide it. So then the lights eventually come on, I get pulled over, get asked to step to the back of the car...I'm thinking I'm gonna get grilled, and then the officer asks me how long I've had the car (I think the temp tags were still on it, not sure on that though). So anyways, the officer got done questioning me and then sent me on my way...ticketless. I was happy, but Jason was like "what did he take you to the back of the car for??...he probably just wanted to flirt with you and you didn't even get a ticket".
SECOND OFFENSE:
This was actually last year. The kids had the day off, so I was taking them to go shopping and watch a movie. Just hanging out. Again, cruise control should be my friend. As we were driving down the freeway I obviously wasn't paying attention to my speed (again). As I was going down this hill (which is why I was speeding I'm sure...ok, not really cause he was pretty much at the top of the hill) there was an officer in the median. I saw him pull out...this time I chose to slow down...something along the lines of I'm going 88 in a 75 told me it wouldn't be pretty if I didn't slow down. For some reason this time I was a little nervous, as opposed to my first time. Maybe it was due to how fast I had actually been going, and the fact that I did have the kids with me, in which they weren't taking it too well...worried kids + fielding questions like "are you going to jail mommy" = stress. So after I got it through to them to please SHUT IT, we all stressed less, or at least more quietly. This time I got a ticket. But he was nice enough to not give me a felony citation due to my speed, he took it down to civil. Very nice I officer...well, after I get past the little detail of being pulled over to begin with. So I get my ticket I start pulling back on to the freeway...and my son decides to tell me "you better be telling dad about this" in a very matter-of-fact tone. Hmm, I done been told!

I think I've been cured of not paying enough attention to my speed...the fine and the online class did me in. Now quit effin honking and me and go around already...I'm not speeding up for yo' a$$.
So....I can't tell you how many times I have been pulled over. And even though I hate memes, love your answers!
ReplyDeleteCruise control is definately my friend. Lots of times I would have been going to fast if I had not had that handy little button pushed.
ReplyDeleteHaha! I love that your son told you to fess up! That is funny.
ReplyDeleteI'm so guilty of not paying attention to my speed. Its BAD.
Wow, can you believe I've NEVER been pulled over? It's not like I drive all careful and slow all the time, either. Great, now I've probably cursed myself. Will you send me cookies in jail?
ReplyDeleteVery funny. The first time I was pulled over I was in high school and it happened in front of my house. I was praying my dad didn't notice the flashing lights outside.
ReplyDeleteI love that your son you better be telling dad! That had me rolling in laughter!
ReplyDeleteI always get honked at too while I am driving. I just give them the one figure salute and stay going the speed I am going unless they are too close then I slow down and go even slower!
ReplyDeleteI thought you were going to tell about the time you were already pulled over after the game....
ReplyDeleteMy husband hates riding with me because he is a speed demon and I am a strict speed limit obey-er...if he could honk from the passenger seat, he would!
ReplyDeleteI have been pulled over more times than I care to remember. I used to have a bit of a lead foot. I'm (mostly) cured now.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! Thanks for stopping by my blog! I am following you now!
